Miki Armchair Lema

The Lema Miki armchair made its debut at the 62nd Salone del Mobile.Milano in April 2024. It was designed by Pierattelli Architetture, a Florence studio working in architecture and design since the 1980s. The idea is a nest. A full seat cushion sits inside a padded, curved shell that wraps it on three sides, with a high back and a compact footprint. In the designers' words: "Miki is delicacy and stability, a harmonious and cozy seat with sleek, soft lines."

Inside the Lema Miki armchair

The shell hides a frame of solid wood and curved plywood, padded with polyurethane foam in several densities and topped with a fiber layer. The seat rests on high-rubber elastic webbing, so it gives a little when you sink back. The seat cover comes off; the shell cover is fixed. Choose fabric, leather or vegan leather from the Lema swatch books. The material changes the mood a lot: a textured fabric makes Miki soft and homey, smooth leather makes it look sharper.

A Lema armchair that swivels, or stands on four legs

The best-known version sits on a black five-spoke pedestal in die-cast aluminum, with polyethylene glides. You can pick free 360° rotation, or rotation with automatic return, which brings the chair back to its starting position when you stand up. Lema also makes Miki on four fixed wooden legs, a better fit for a bedroom or reading corner where you don't need to turn toward the room. Next to the arm, a small, tall side table works well, like the Lema Francis coffee table at Ø 30 cm x H 50 cm (11¾" x 19¾"), right at hand height.
