The Porada Cuna Lounge chair is one of the new pieces in Porada's 2026 collection, unveiled at Paris Design Week. It's by Emmanuel Gallina, the French designer who created the Cuna executive armchair for Porada in 2025. The Lounge version takes that idea into the living room, with more generous proportions and a deeper seat. In Gallina's words: «The shell of Cuna Lounge gives the piece its true identity».
The Porada Cuna Lounge chair: a solid walnut shell
Everything rests on the shell, in solid Canaletto walnut worked by Porada. It's one continuous curve that stretches into the armrests and wraps around the back cushion without a break. Inside, soft ergonomic cushions follow the shape of the shell. The stated reference is 1950s design, when bent wood and generous padding lived in the same piece. «Cuna» means cradle in Spanish and in literary Italian.
High back, low back, and a pouf
Cuna Lounge comes in two heights. The High version shelters head and shoulders: a reading chair, or a place to rest. The Low version is lighter on the eye and works well in pairs, facing a sofa or in a hotel lobby. In the 2026 collection Porada also presents the Cuna Lounge pouf, for putting your feet up. Gallina calls it «an armchair that lends itself to versatility». It fits a private lounge, a hotel or an office, in classic and contemporary interiors alike. Next to a soft-lined sofa such as the Porada Klem, also in Canaletto walnut, it builds a consistent living room.
