Most dining chairs are chosen for their looks and endured for their backs. So Far flips that around. Studiopepe took a tubular metal frame with a clear 1970s accent and set seat and back cushions on it that are far thicker than usual.
From across the room the metal draws the outline and the leather fills it in. Up close you notice the leather piping, in the same shade as the upholstery, that finishes the cushion edges. The upholstery can be leather, fabric or sheepskin; the piping is always leather.
The frame comes in two finishes: polished chrome, or hand-brushed burnished metal for a warmer, more textured look. The armchair version is 80 cm wide and holds its own as a reading chair. The armless version, 54 cm wide, fits easily around a round table.
