01 — Brand history
Lema: Made-to-Measure Systems from Brianza since 1970
Lema was founded in 1970 by the Meroni family in Alzate Brianza, near Como. The name is an acronym of the founding brothers, Luigi and Enrico Meroni, and the family business goes back to a craft workshop opened by their father Angelo in the 1930s. Lema's two factories, in Alzate Brianza and Giussano, were designed by architect Angelo Mangiarotti.
Lema was among the first Italian companies to think in terms of integrated furniture systems. In 1981 it introduced the wardrobe made to the centimetre for each client. In 1994 Piero Lissoni became art director, and in 1995 the Selecta day system was presented at the Salone del Mobile. Lema's first walk-in closet followed in 1998, and in 2004 the Contract division for large international projects.
Today Lema furnishes the whole home, from wardrobes and walk-in closets to bookcases, sofas, tables and beds, with one idea: furniture designed around the space and the people who live in it.

03 — Materials & customisation
Finishes, Customisation and Site Survey
Lema systems are produced to measure: dimensions, interior fittings, door types and finishes are chosen for each project. For wardrobes and walk-in closets we start with a survey of the space by our technicians, followed by executive drawings for your approval before production.
Lema uses consistent styles, dimensions and finishes across wardrobes, day systems and furnishings, so every room of the home can be coordinated: lacquers, wood veneers, glass and fabrics from the Lema range.

Marchese 1930 works with architects, interior designers and real estate developers on residential, hospitality and contract projects worldwide. Professionals receive reserved trade conditions, with discounts of up to 40–50% off list price depending on brand, quantities and project.
Our technical team supports you from concept to installation: layouts, shop drawings and submissions, project coordination, a single consolidated shipment for several brands and installation on site.
06 — How to buy
How to Buy Lema from Abroad
Step 1 — Tell us about your project
Send us the models you like, your room measurements and your preferred finishes, or ask our team for advice. For modular and made-to-measure pieces we prepare a layout drawing.
Step 2 — Receive a personalised quote
We send a detailed quote with configuration, finishes, production time and shipping to your country, with the delivery terms you prefer: EXW, DAP, DDP or white-glove.
Step 3 — Confirm with a 40% deposit
The order is confirmed with a 40% deposit, negotiable for larger projects. The balance is due before shipment. We accept all major credit cards, including American Express.
Step 4 — Production and updates
We follow production with the manufacturer and, on request, send you photos and details of the goods before loading.
Step 5 — Delivery and installation
Insured delivery to your address, or white-glove service with installation. We apply no mark-up on transport costs.
