The Chesterfield may be the most recognisable sofa there is: rolled arms, buttons, leather. Paola Navone kept the technique and changed everything else.
The lines soften, the corners disappear, the volumes swell. Seen from the side, Chester Moon looks like a cloud that has settled on the floor. The tufting does not stop at back and arms as on the English original. It runs without a break over every surface. Each button is set by hand, and every fold of leather is arranged one at a time.
Underneath is a fir plywood frame with a fir seat frame, differentiated-density foam and woven rubber straps. The base is wengé-stained beech. It is made only in Baxter's soft leathers.
The family includes sofas in five lengths, an armchair and two ottomans, one square and one long enough to sit at the foot of the sofa.
