A chair that ignores the boundaries between rooms
Some chairs are built for a single role — dining, desk, lounge — and some refuse to choose. Oslo belongs to the second kind: Paola Navone designs it for Baxter with a wengé-stained ash frame so essential it nearly disappears visually, leaving the leather upholstery to do the work of comfort. The result is a seat that moves without friction between the living area, the dining room and a study corner, never looking out of place in any of the three.
The raw-edge stitching of the upholstery — available in the version with fully leather-covered legs — adds the material touch that turns an essential object into a piece of character. The upholstery range is among the widest in Baxter's catalogue: dozens of leathers and fabrics, from warm cognac tones to deep greens, right through to the darkest blacks.
